Canalys is looking for an account manager to develop business and manage existing clients in the Asia-Pacific region. This Singapore-based position is an important senior role within a nimble, global technology analyst, consultancy and events business. The role comes with generous compensation, including an attractive base salary and the ability to earn high bonuses and commissions by driving business in the dynamic APAC market. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the growth of Canalys in the APAC region. There is scope to rapidly grow this role to Account Director, so would suit an ambitious Account Manager keen to take the next step in their career.
You are experienced at developing relationships at multiple levels within client organizations, and possess the confidence to approach the C-suite. As a proactive and self-motivated salesperson, you are equally comfortable selling as part of a team or alone. You understand the technology industry (or are enthusiastic to learn about tech). You are confident to chase new business as well as account manage existing clients and manage renewals. Canalys’ portfolio includes market intelligence and data services as well as conference sponsorships, so a proven track record of selling these types of products (including outside the technology industry) will be highly regarded.
About the Role
Based out of Singapore and reporting into a Worldwide Head of Sales in the UK, this person will be a key driver of the business within the APAC region, excluding China and Korea. The candidate will be responsible for selling a range of continuous information services, market intelligence, research projects and event sponsorship to IT companies. The primary market is Singapore, but Japan, India and Australia are also important markets of opportunity. Regional and global travel is an important part of the role.
Canalys works with an impressive list of clients in APAC. The candidate will be expected to maintain relationships and renew existing contracts and search for new sales opportunities. The ability to open up new name accounts is an important element of the role. Selling will be exclusively to vendors of technology products, services and solutions, predominantly dealing with senior management within marketing roles.
