Canalys COVID-19 statement and FAQs

I am writing on behalf of the entire Canalys Events Team to update you on our 2020 events. We have been monitoring the ongoing situation for the past few months and have made the decision to pivot our EMEA, APAC and LATAM events to a hybrid format. This decision has been made with the well-being of the industry at the forefront of our minds.

We are planning a very exciting and innovative event series for 2020 and will be making several more announcements to provide more information to our sponsors, distributors, and partners in the coming weeks.

On behalf of the global Canalys team, we’re here for you during this unprecedented situation. Take care and we will communicate often through the FAQs below as well as updating you via our blog posts. If you have any questions, please get in touch via our contact form.


The health and well-being of our employees, partners and clients are our top priority. Over the past few months, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and engaging with all interested event parties. However, there continues to be uncertainty around the pandemic, and we believe a virtual event is in everyone’s interest. This decision allows Canalys to plan our events with confidence and will enable attendance from all of our attendees, regardless of where they are around the world.

The Canalys Forums 2020 will be extended over the entire week, creating ‘The week of the Channel’ in EMEA, APAC and LATAM.

We hope to bring to our audience ‘The week of the IT channel’. Rather than an agenda being tightly packed over a few days, it now better suits our audience to have more content on demand that can be consumed in their own time, and a select few exciting live moments. Digital solutions have been a critical part of our events for more than ten years. Via our Event App, you can (pre-event virtually and onsite) build your agenda, book meetings, and access all event information. The app is interactive with live Q&A, polling and gamification and new innovations including live simultaneous translation and our friendly chatbot Fero, mean we have an average 98% download and usage rate at our events. As our event platforms continue to innovate, it is a natural progression that streaming functionalities will be integrated within an already effective tool. In 2020 you will see these innovations come to life!
