Lucio Chen is a Research Analyst based in Canalys’ Singapore office. Focusing on Southeast Asia and China, he researches and analyzes vendor shipment performance, product portfolios, go-to-market initiatives and channel dynamics to support Canalys’ quarterly device tracking and market forecasts. He takes a particular interest in studying Asian vendors’ overseas expansion strategies and supports a wide range of consulting projects. He also leads Canalys’ research in the fast-growing smart speaker segment.

Prior to joining Canalys, Lucio worked as a business analyst with a focus on online education in Singapore. He also gained exposure to both the commodity and finance industries in a rotation management program in Shanghai, China. His responsibilities included industry research, market research and analysis, data analysis and presenting business proposals.

Lucio graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, double majored in Finance and Marketing. As part of his degree, he conducted various research projects analyzing consumer behavior and marketing strategies. He also gained international experience through an exchange program with the Bifröst University in Iceland, where he studied cultural and business modules.

Lucio is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
